ABSTRACT
Um laboratório de cirurgia experimental representa um dos pontos chave para a universidade, principalmente na área biomédica. Este aborda em sua estrutura o tripé primordial de uma universidade que é o ensino, a pesquisa e a extensão, elementos essenciais para a formação prática e humanística de um bom médico, que se baseia, principalmente, em evidências científicas e no pensamento crítico. A importância de um laboratório de cirurgia experimental para centros de ensino médico foi regulamentada a partir das novas diretrizes curriculares do Ministério da Educação e Cultura, que institui a obrigatoriedade de um laboratório dentro dos campi universitários. Portanto, é de grande importância a contribuição dos laboratórios de cirurgia experimental na grade curricular, tanto na disciplina de Técnica Operatório de Cirurgia Experimental, como no incentivo à pesquisa básica. Assim, o estudo expõe a experiência de 15 anos do Laboratório de Cirurgia Experimental da Universidade do Estado do Pará, com o objetivo de lucidar e frisar a importância deste para a graduação médica e para a universidade.
The laboratory of experimental surgery represents one of the key points for the university, especially in the biomedical area. This focuses on the university's tripod of primary structure that are teaching, research and extension, which are essential for formation of humanistic and practice of a good doctor that is based, first of all, on scientific evidence and critical knowledge. The importance of a laboratory of experimental surgery centers for medical education was regulated from the new curriculum guidelines of the Ministério da Educação e Cultura, establishing a mandatory laboratory within college centers. Therefore, it is of great importance to the contribution of the laboratories of experimental surgery in the curriculum, both in the discipline of surgical technics and experimental surgery, and an incentive for basic research. Thus, the study presents the experience of 15 years of the Laboratory of Experimental Surgery from Universidade do Estado do Pará, with the goal show the importance of this to medical graduation and the university.
